Stress can be broadly divided into two categories, good stress and bad stress.
While the former motivates you to confront the problems valiantly, the latter makes you feel anxious, nervous and hassled.
For instance, a job promotion usually inspires you to work harder and give in your best shot.
However, the same promotion becomes distressing when the workload becomes unbearable, when the responsibilities are too hard to shoulder, and when the overall office environment becomes suffocating.
Thus, without you being aware, a good stress has gradually transformed into bad stress.
The biggest question that must be impinging your mind at this point of time is, "How to deal with stress?" Here are some simple ways to manage stress.
o Keep aside some time for yourself- Taking care of your family, fulfilling the job requirements and seamlessly executing your social commitments may be important goals of your life.
At the same time, you should also find time for yourself.
You need time to sit back and relax, to enumerate all the trouble of your life and find feasible solutions for them, to enjoy the small pleasure of your life, to laugh heartily, and to pamper your mind, body and soul.
Keep in mind, that only you have the ability to find a realistic answer to the question how to deal with stress, and for that you need time.
o Don't shoulder all the burden- Realize your capabilities, and accordingly take up the responsibilities.
There is absolutely no need to do all the chores yourself.
Delegate some tasks to others too, and learn to ignore flaws, faults and mistakes.
As compared to your stress, these things are too small and should be overlooked.
o Understand the power of balanced diet- A balanced diet will keep you energized throughout the day.
Hence, take at least three meals a day viz.
breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Ensure that your breakfast has carbohydrates, proteins and fats in wholesome amount.
Lunch should contain large amount of proteins and carbohydrates, and dinner should be the lightest.
Additionally, include lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, milk products and meat in your diet.
These are rich sources of vitamins and essential minerals that help to keep stress at bay.
o Sleep is also essential- Every person requires at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep to rejuvenate the body and mind.
Besides this, 15 to 20 minutes of power nap can remove all the stress and strain, and recharge your body fully.
Remember, nothing is more important than your health, so sleep properly, stay healthy and delve out a practical answer to the question how to deal with stress.
o Take out time to exercise- Various studies have shown that regular exercise not only helps you to stay healthy, but also provide you the power to fight bravely with all the distressing situations.
For this reason, set aside 25 to 30 minutes for exercise.
Apart from walking, jogging and running, indulge in a session of aerobic exercise.
o Practice relaxation techniques- Relaxation techniques as meditation and yoga have tremendous healing powers.
If you don't have an inclination for any of these, you can simple practice deep breathing.
Just sit comfortably and breathe in deeply, then breathe out slowly from your mouth.
Do this for 1 minute, and you will certainly feel fresh and energetic.
o Take a break- After toiling day in and day out, you need a break.
Plan a vacation and go to a place where you can unwind and relax.
If possible switch off all your gadgets, and enjoy the serenity of the place.
