Downloading Maps Online

• 1). Go to a website that provides downloadable "StarCraft" maps, such as StarCraftMaps.com. Enter the website and you will find a descriptive list of maps on the front page, as well as under the "StarCraft" tab at the top of the page next to the "Home" button. Select "StarCraft" maps.
  
  
• 2). Find the map you want to play on and select the map. In the top right corner, click the green "Download" button. Once your map has downloaded, enter your Download folder and find the map you have downloaded.
  
  
• 3). Click "Start," "All Programs" and open the StarCraft folder. Click "StarCraft Files" and find the Maps submenu. Open the Maps submenu and drag the NEW-MAP-NAME.scm file into the Download folder found in the Maps folder. If you do not see a Downloads folder, simply drop the file into the Maps folder. Your NEW-MAP-NAME.scm file will not appear in your maps menu when you run the "StarCraft" disc.
  
  

Download from StarCraft

• 1). Insert and run "StarCraft." Enter your username and password and log on to the main lobby chat section.
  
  
• 2). Click the "Join" button that will show up in the left sidebar.
  
  
• 3). Find a map. Under the "Show All" drop-down menu on the left of the screen, select the type of map you would like to download, such as Top vs. Bottom, Melee or One on One. A list of map games available to play will appear. Select one of them and join the game and click the "OK" button. You will see numbers count up to 100 to the left of your screen name. When the numbers reach 100, your computer will have downloaded the map automatically.
  
  
• 4). To find your new map, click the "Create" button in the left sidebar of the StarCraft Chat Lobby. Name the game and give password if you choose. Under the Map section, click the "Browse" button that will appear to the right of the Map section. You may have to click the folder "Up One Level" several times until the option to go up one level is no longer available. If you have not previously downloaded any maps, a new folder titled "Download" will have appeared.
  
  
• 5). Click "Download" and your new map will be listed as NEW-MAP-NAME.scx. Double-click the new map and continue creating your game.
