My Last Car Trip With My Husband
Every time my husband would get us ready for a trip he had a great way of adding an extra small pillow on my seat so I could use it for a nap.
He knew as soon as he turned on the engine and pulled out into the road about an hour into the trip and I would be napping.
I could not help it.
The music would be playing softly, we had a very comfortable car and it had plenty of leg room so I could stretch out.
Every now and then I would wake up to make sure he was alright and go back to sleep.
After about two hours he would stop for a break.
We would get out of the car for a bathroom break and stretch our legs.
Buy a cup of coffee and in ten minutes be back on the road again.
We normally traveled in the fall as the leaves were changing colors.
My husband would say that if I could not keep him company at least the scenery would be great to look at for the trip.
I sure do miss those trips.
One day, we were traveling down a hill and had to stop for a red light.
The car behind us did not see us and hit us so hard from behind it pushed us through the intersection.
A tractor-trailer was traveling at full speed and my husband never knew what hit him.
When I finally left the hospital, I almost did not recognize myself.
I was glad to be home though after a few months.
I knew I would have to buy a new car and that could wait.
The truck driver had very good auto insurance and I did not need anything while I was in the hospital and now that I was home everything would be covered too.
Of course, it would not bring everything back but I also knew it was quick and we are getting older and we had a good life together.
When you are looking for auto insurance, look for a company that you will be with for some time.
Take time to research and get the best premiums and benefit you can with them.
Compare a few companies and compare the auto insurance quotes.
Make sure you take out medical and collision coverage and do not skimp on that area.
You never know if you might be traveling down a hill and find out at the last second you lost your brakes.
