How to Check the PH of the Pool Water
- 1). Fill the large compartment of the pool chemistry test kit vial with water from the pool. Take the water sample from at least 18 inches under the surface.
- 2). Empty out enough water until the level is even with the vial's 25-milliliter mark.
- 3). Place five drops of the No. 4 reagent into the vial's water.
- 4). Shake the vial to stir the water.
- 5). Hold the vial up to a light source and determine which number on the vial the color of the water corresponds to. Using the pool chemistry test kit is the best way to test the pH level of the pool water. The optimum pH range is between 7.2 and 7.8.
