104 31
    • 1). Begin the invitation by announcing the shower and who it's for. For example, "Please come to celebrate Jessica's bridal shower."

    • 2). List the shower details, including the date, time, place and RSVP information.

    • 3). Add a note explaining to your guests that you'd like them to bring a favorite recipe for the bride-to-be. For example, "Jessica is learning to cook, so we'd like each of you to bring one of your favorite recipes. Please write it on the enclosed index card. At the shower, we're going to assemble a cookbook for our bride. Your recipe will help to make it a special, one-of-a-kind memento that we hope she'll use for years to come."

    • 4). Assign a recipe category to each guest; for example, main dish, soup or dessert. This is an optional step, as you can leave it up to the guests, but by requesting a specific type of recipe from each guest, you''ll be sure to receive an assortment.

    • 5). Enclose a blank index card for the recipe with the invitation.
