Sterility And Hormone Production

Sterility

An obvious priority for someone looking to produce injectable Hormones is of course 'How safe is it?'; in real terms this question translates into 'Is it possible to make 100% Sterile hormones and how consistently can this be done?'.

It is in fact extremely easy to produce 100% sterile Hormones with 100% consistency and you will see why in this section.

Microbiology Filters:

To understand how it is possible to acheive 100% Sterility when producing Hormones, one first must understand why unsterile products are a problem. Simple put an unsterile solution is not suitable to be injected because it may contain Bacteria; typically Bacteria is no problem for the Human body as we have our own defence machanisms which easily tackle 99% of Bacteria.

Bacteria introduced into deep tissue however can and does cause serious problems. The body is still able to easily kill the bacteria, however, it is unable to remove what it kills or to remove whiteblood cells killed in the process of eradicating the Bacteria. This causes a build up of dead white blood cells (Puss) which is called an abscess and has to be removed in hostpital.

To sterilize a solution is to remove all forms of Bacteria, when producing Hormones this is always done using Microbiology Filters. These come in a few forms but Syringe Filters are the most inexpensive of all the methods. This section will focus on the Sterile Syringe Filter, although all microbiology filters work on the same principle.

Sterile Syringe Filters:

Sterile Syringe filters come in a number of different pore sizes, the pore size required to 100% sterility is 0.22um. The following is from wikipedia regarding Bacteria sizes:

'Bacteria display a wide diversity of shapes and sizes, called morphologies. Bacterial cells are about one tenth the size of eukaryotic cells and are typically 0.5–5.0 micrometres(um) in length.'

As you can see the smallest Bacterias are 0.5um in diamater, so technically a 0.45um will produce a sterile solution. By using the 0.22um pore size you are actually 0.3um smaller than the smallest Bacterias ensuring that even if the smallest Bacterias were somehow introduced to your mixture in the 10minutes it is uncovered, that it would definietely be removed with ease.

Syringe Filters with Hormones:

When producing Hormones with Syringe Filters one must be aware of where/when Bacteria can potentially be introduced. Right up to the point the solution is filtered it is unsterile, as soon as the solution passes through the filter it is now considered sterile. The set up you will use is that the filtered mixture will go directly into the sterile vial - there is no contact with the 'outside' world.

While this process is extremely straight foreward it is important to note that care must still be taken:

1.) Always use a clean syringe filter. Re-using syringe filters is not an option.

2.)The end of the Syringe Filter from which the sterile solution comes out of and the inside of the needle head (plastic part) must not be contaminated, remove them from their packaging and connect immediately to each other. Do not leave them lying around exposed for extended periods of tim - this is how bacteria can be introduced.

3.) Always use an alcohol swab to sterilize the top of the Glass vial.

4.) Reusing glass vials in often risky, it is safer to use only new vials. If you must reuse a glass vial and have no other option, inject Benzyl Alcohol into the vial and shake the vial, the BA will instantly kill any bacteria in the vial. You must extract all of the remaining solution before using this vial.

Conclusion

It is pleasantly surprising just how simple and easy the process is to consistently produce sterile Hormones and it is amlost an entirely fool-proof process. Producing sterile Hormones requires no technical expertise and very little equipment and when using Sterile Syringe Filters is very inexpensive.
