As a personal trainer for several years now, I know for a fact that every fitness activity is not as easy as you thought it to be.
Actually, this applies to every worthwhile activity we do in our life, and these things can sometimes be challenging.
If you're currently working on getting fit, then you've got to remember that there will be a lot of major challenges that you will have to encounter along the way.
The way you handle all these challenges will be the basis on whether you are going to be successful in achieving your goal weight or not.
As a personal trainer, I've realized that a lot of people failed to achieve their weight because they are hindered by so many things in life, such as financial restraints as well as work responsibilities.
It is therefore important to ensure that your lifestyle goals must be Specific, Measurable, Realistic and Time-bound.
Specific - You have to make sure that you clearly understood what your exact goal is.
You need to know specifically the things that you want to achieve, such as your specific goal weight.
You may write it down and put it on a certain place that you can easily see everyday - at the fridge, on your mobile phone, or even on the desktop of your computer.
This will serve as a constant reminder that you are currently working on achieving a certain goal.
Measurable - It is very important that your daily progress must be measured so you can keep track on your journey of losing weight.
You may also set a certain weight that you have to loose on a weekly basis, and measure yourself at the end of the week to know if you are on the right track.
Realistic - Set a goal that is not too ambitious.
Although challenging your self is okay, but you have to make sure that these things are achievable.
It is useless to set certain goals if you knew from the start that they are very impossible to achieve.
From the very beginning, it is very important to honestly evaluate yourself.
Ask questions like, "Do I have the ability to make these goals come true?" or "Am I willing to undergo all these difficulties to be able to achieve my goal?" If your answers are no, then you might change or modify something on your goal, like lowering the amount of weight that you're trying to lose just so your goals will be realistic, or lengthen the time period of achieving these goals.
Time-bound - You have to set a certain time frame and a deadline on achieving these goals.
And when setting a deadline, you have to make sure that it's attainable, too.
As a Brooklyn personal trainer, I heard a lot of my clients say that they want to achieve a hundred pounds in only a manner of two or three months.
Well obviously, that seems impossible.
You cannot lose weight in an instant.
It is a lengthy process that involves some challenges.
It is not that easy, but if you are focus on your goal, then there shouldn't be any reasons why you can't achieve your weight goal.
