How to Pull a Projector Screen Tight
- 1). Lay the projector frame face down on the floor.
- 2). Tighten the screws along one side of the screen, then tighten the screws on the opposite side until the screen is lightly tensioned.
- 3). Place the screen against a wall as close to vertical as possible.
- 4). Hold the flashlight parallel to the projection screen and slowly scan the beam across the surface. Any areas without proper tension will show up as ripples under the light. Vertical ripples mean the screws on the sides of the screen need to be tightened, while horizontal ripples mean the screws on the top and bottom of the screen need tightening.
- 5). Place the screen on the floor and tighten the screws above and below, or to either side of the rippled area. Tighten both sides of the area equally. Stand the screen up again and scan the area with the flashlight. When the screen has been properly tensioned, the ripples will not show up any more. You may need to repeat this process several times, as tightening some areas may cause other areas to ripple.
