    • 1). Find a large two to three foot wide and tall cardboard box to contain the spray paint to a small area and to restrict the air movement around the spray. Secure the bottom of the box with masking tape to keep your objects from falling out. Open the top flaps so they are standing vertically and tape them around the sides with masking tape to hold them straight up.

    • 2). Place the object you wish to spray paint in the bottom of the box after you have gone through the proper steps to prepare the surface for accepting the paint.

    • 3). Wear disposable gloves and reach into the box to spray, holding the well-shaken paint can about 12 inches from the object, perpendicular to the bottom of the box. Depress the nozzle starting at one side of the box and sweeping the object with thin coats of the spray. Stop spraying when you have coated the object with a light coating of spray. Allow it to dry for about an hour and spray again. Dry for several hours before removing from the box.

    • 4). Throw away the gloves and the box when you are finished.
