Like billiards and shuffleboard, the classic pub game of darts has made its way to the Internet. You can play online against a computer or against yourself. These games are free to play and don't require a membership to enjoy. - Of the many online versions of darts, "Cricket Darts" is one of the most graphically polished. The video game so closely resembles a real dart board that you might mistake it for a photograph. Rules follow the standard 501 format, with each player beginning the game with 501 points. The first one to get to 0 wins. You can play one-on-one against a computer or against up to four human competitors.
- "Bulls Eye" is designed specifically for a single player. A horizontal as well as a vertical bar gauge your aim, and you must time your mouse click perfectly to get the dart where it belongs. There are no computerized opponents in this game, and instead your goal is simply to get to 0 points in as few turns as possible.
- In "McCoys Darts," you can enjoy a standard round of 501, or you can experiment with two other dart games. The 501 in McCoys is played with other players around the world. The other games, "Three Dart Finish" and "Around the Clock," will force you to think outside of the box with your dart throwing strategies. As with "Bulls Eye," gameplay doesn't truly reflect the challenges of a real game of darts, but the reflexive challenges in this game will still entertain those looking for a unique spin on the classic pub time-killer.
