    • 1). Open your web browser.

    • 2). Enter your wireless router's settings utility by typing its IP address into the browser address bar the same way you would the URL for a regular website. If you don't know your router's IP address, consult its user's manual. Hit "Enter" to load your router's settings login page. Use the username and password you set up when you installed the router to access its settings utility.

    • 3). Click "Security."

    • 4). Choose the type of security you'd like from the drop-down menu. WPA security will generate a network password for you. WEP security will allow you to create one of your own. If you choose WEP, type a password into the box below. If you choose WPA, write down the password in the box below, as you will immediately need it to connect to your own network.

    • 5). Click "Save." Your wireless home network is now secure.
