  Ohio, the Buckeye State, is home to many sizable rivers including the Maumee, Grand, Tuscarawas, Muskingum, Scioto and Little Miami. It is also home to the mighty Ohio River which pours more water into the Mississippi than any of its other tributaries. According to the Ohio Department of Natural Areas and Preserves, there are an additional 14 scenic rivers in the state managed under the Ohio Scenic Rivers Act: four in central Ohio, six in the northeast, two each in the northwest and southwest corners of the state. Most of these rivers are relatively undeveloped for lodging, but there are some riverfront hotels available across the state.
