Men"s Skincare - Why Bother?
We are not talking about lotions left on the counter by the women in the house.
Nor are we talking about after-shave gel slapped on after a quick shave.
We are, however, talking about products designed just for us...
the guys.
Why bother? Simply put, men should, as the aging process continues and as a preventative measure, use such products to help maintain a healthy, youthful look.
Who knows? We might even turn a few heads.
Attention to skin care is one of the most overlooked aspects in our daily grooming.
Did you know that there is such a thing as men anti-aging skincare designed specifically for guys? Actually, it is one of the largest growing markets in the skin care industry.
If you are a man reading this I would be willing to bet your significant other has brought this subject up at least once; I know because my wife, in her infinite wisdom, gently suggested I was not getting any younger and that my skin was starting to look tired and dry.
Only recently did personal care companies start to put an emphasis on men's skincare.
Traditionally, the focus has targeted females who, supposedly, pay more attention to their looks far more than men do.
(I know plenty of guys with as much vanity of any woman, she said.
) You may ask: Why should I, a man, use men's skincare as opposed to what is sitting on the bathroom counter? Answer: Most men's facial skin is fifteen percent more oily and thicker than that of our female counterpart.
We guys also have a tendency to have larger pores and with age, more prominent and deeper wrinkles.
Men should not use the ladies goodies because they often contain more moisturizing than what men require, which may irritate and clog pores.
It's a simple process, really: cleaning, lightly moisturizing and exfoliation.
Exfoliation? Yep.
This gets rid of the dead skin build up, which leaves a dull and dry looking face.
The results are quite impressive, I will admit.
More and more guys are using men anti-aging skincare products as they are becoming more prominent in the industry, overall.
There are many of us who can benefit from better skin care.
It's worth the few extra minutes a day to apply.
The key is locating products that are truly beneficial to the skin and effective for producing long term results.
Maintaining a youthful complexion is equally desirable to both men and women and there is no stigma attached to slathering on men's skincare products as being less than masculine.
If the idea seems silly to you, take it from this guy...
my wife loves the new skin I'm wearing...

My wife says I have turned a few heads, as well.
Maybe I'll take a few minutes...
give myself a facial.
