How to Find Out If a Tractor Has a Tracking Device

    • 1). Ask the owner or manufacturer if the vehicle you have came with a GPS tracking device.

    • 2). Search the tractor for a GPS tracking device. These devices are fairly small, and they can be attached in a variety of places. Check the glove box, under the seat, and along the sides of the engine compartment as well as under the hood. Many of these GPS tracking devices have small lights on them that will be on when they're active, so look for a small device with a blinking light that doesn't appear to be attached to anything else.

    • 3). Check the tractor for other devices that could be tracked by GPS. For instance, a cell phone can be located by the GPS chip inside it. The same is true for an actual GPS system used for navigation. Any electronic gadget that has a GPS chip can also track the position of the tractor if it's on board.
