Side Effects of Tablets

• Gastrointestinal side effects occur in 1 to 10 percent of patients who take Apo-Diclo tablets and include abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, indigestion, flatulence, heartburn, nausea, vomiting and an increased incidence of stomach ulcers. Other common side effects of Apo-Diclo tablets include dizziness, headaches, itching, skin rashes, ringing of the ears and swelling of the extremities. In some patients, serious cardiovascular side effects occur, such as fainting, hypertension and arrhythmia. Apo-Diclo also has the potential to cause life-threatening effects, including liver failure, abnormal kidney function, anemia, uncontrollable bleeding and Stevens-Johnson Syndrome.
  
  

Side Effects of Suppositories

• The most common side effects of Apo-Diclo suppositories are itching and skin rash, which occur in approximately half of all users. Other skin effects include dryness, dermatitis, acne, hair loss and sensitivity to the sun. At least 20 percent of Apo-Diclo suppository users report generalized body pain and tingling in the extremities, while 3 to 4 percent report pain confined to the back or joints. Approximately 2 percent of users describe respiratory side effects, such as asthma, shortness of breath, pneumonia, runny nose and sinus infections. Other side effects of Apo-Diclo suppositories include headache, weakness, eye pain, indigestion, abdominal pain, diarrhea an an increased incidence of influenza and eye infections.
  
  

Side Effects of Eye Drops

• The most common side effects of Apo-Diclo drops include changes in tear production and inflammation of the cornea, which occur in around 30 percent of users. Approximately 15 percent of patients experience increases in eye pressure levels and stinging. Less common ocular side effects include abnormal or blurred vision, conjunctivitis, swelling of the cornea or eyelids, discharge and redness. Around 3 percent of Apo-Diclo drop users report gastrointestinal side effects like nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain as well as fever, weakness, facial pain and susceptibility to viral infections.
  
  

Drug Interactions

• There are some medications which produce unwanted side effects when used in conjunction with Apo-Diclo. Taking aspirin, Fluoxetine or biphosphates with Apo-Diclo increases your risk of stomach ulcers, while blood thinners like Warfarin increase your risk of uncontrollable bleeding. Cyclosporine causes additional damage to the kidneys when used with Apo-Diclo tablets. Aminoglycosides, Heparin or anti-fungal drugs due to an increase side effects with all forms of Apo-Diclo.
  
  

Considerations

• Doctors typically do not prescribe Apo-Diclo for pregnant or nursing women as it may cause harmful effects to the fetus or baby. In addition, the drug is not used in children under the age of 16. If you have a history of stomach ulcers, diverticulitis, congestive heart failure, kidney disease or hypertension, your may not be able to take Apo-Diclo due to its potential side effects. Since it sometimes causes dizziness or fainting, you should not operate a motor vehicle or heavy machinery until you know how Apo-Diclo affects you.
