    • 1). Shake the pizza box to remove food debris. Wipe the box out with a damp towel.

    • 2). Make a window in the top of the box. Starting in the middle of one of the sides of the box top, use the ruler to measure one inch toward the center. Mark this point with a large dot. Repeat this process for the other three sides of the box top. Then, use the ruler to connect these dots with four straight lines. The lines should form a square or rectangle. Cut along three of the straight lines with the craft knife. Open the flap that is created by the cut to create the window.

    • 3). Tear a piece of aluminum foil that is approximately the same size as the window. Glue the foil, shiny side up, to the inside of the window flap.

    • 4). Glue aluminum foil, shiny side down, to each of the surfaces inside the pizza box. Alternating the sides of aluminum foil helps to reflect and then trap solar energy.

    • 5). Glue a piece of black construction paper on top of the foil in the bottom of the pizza box. The black paper will help absorb solar heat.

    • 6). Cut a piece of clear transparency plastic that is just bigger than the top of the opened box. Lay the plastic over the open box and secure it around the edges with masking tape. Close the pizza box, making sure to keep the window flap up. Use the bamboo skewer to keep the flap open.

    • 7). Place the oven in direct sunlight and place a food item to heat in the oven.
