Ground Source Heat Is Environmentally Friendly

Ground source heat is environmentally friendly to use, where other fuels that are burned to provide heat to a structure damage the environment in some fashion. The removal of any item from the earth will eventually cause a problem in the natural make up and balance of the earth. These problems may not be evident for many years, but eventually if you are taking a substance found in nature, out of nature, then nature is going to complain one day.

Ground source heat is taken from the temperature of the earth beneath our surface, but the removal of this heat is not the same as removing an item that took up space in the ground like coal, oil, or even gas. The heat that is taken when you install a ground source heat pump is made by the sun, rotting vegetation, and the natural process of decomposition.

When a person installs a ground source heat pump they place pipes under the ground. These pipes will have an antifreeze liquid inside them that will be warmed by the temperature of the ground, much like what would occur if you took a cool glass of water and sat it down in a warm room. After a period of time the temperature of the water in the glass would rise without you having done anything more than leave it exposed to the warm air. The liquid that is flowing through the system of pipes will be exposed to a warm environment and will therefore be warmed.

It does not cost a penny for the heat under the surface of our yards to warm the liquid flowing through the pipes we place there. The liquid travels through those pipes and circulates back through the house. This circulation allows the liquid to bring the warmer temperature inside the structure where the warm is removed from it and it is again sent to flow through the maze of underground piping.

It does cost a little to install these units. It cost a good bit more than it costs to install the average heating system in a home. You have to remember that with ground source heat, there is no extra fuel required. You will not need to buy and store coal. You will not have any need for heating oil, propane, or gas to heat the interior of your home.

You will have installed a system that does not require you to cut any living thing down in order for it to be able to create heat for your home. You will not need to dig anything up from under the ground in order for you to be comfortable during the winter months. There will be no monthly gas charges for heating the home and there will be no fuel or oil delivery charges. You will not have to worry about the rising cost of heating oil, and you will never have to remember to order extra fuel to operate your system. You will have an endless supply of fuel to heat your home at no additional cost to you or to the environment from which it came.

Ground source heat is the only way to heat your home that does absolutely no damage to the planet we live on. Ground source heat equipment is rather costly initially, but over the years you will save plenty on the cost of fuel for your furnace.
