I Wept For Hours But I Will Always Hold SacredStars and the Box Left Out Along the Path
~~*~~ I wept for hours after I left your forest.
All I could think about was the box you left for me.
The ribbons were gone but the rest was all ever so neatly intact.
Seeing it again after so much time reflections of the past resurfaced.
Your face shined through.
I remembered our laughter together and you know all I could do after remembering was to cry.
I missed it so that kind of laughter with you.
You always said that who you really are is what you do when you are truly alone.
I guess maybe you were right.
But I confess after all this time alone only reminds me of home.
I hear laughter in the forest still when I close my eyes and shut out all the noises and thoughts of today's rhythm those nagging now signs.
If I set my heart to it I can most brilliantly smell the pines and almost see blue butterflies.
Sometimes at just around midnight I awake and anticipate a gathering of stars elusive treasures seen only when the sky is truly dark.
And I remember that night that you showed them to me the stars within the dark.
I've been told other stories since I last listened to yours and I must tell you the most remarkable thing is that inside each conclusion everything does in fact come together and endings do somehow bring about serenity.
Miracles and life continue on.
And even though I will never see you again I wish you all the treasures still to be found in the box left out by me along a forests path.
