Questions Every Chiropractor Should Answer Before Starting Treatment

You have finally decided to schedule an appointment with a chiropractor, here are four questions that you should be sure are answered before your doctor begins to adjust your spine.
What is wrong? Can chiropractic help? How long will it take? How much will it cost? First, let's start with what is actually causing your pain.
After talking with you about your problem, doing an examination, and possibly taking x-rays, your chiropractor should be able to tell you what is causing your pain.
They should also be able to explain to you exactly what is going on and why you feel the way you do.
Next, you need to know if a chiropractor can actually fix your problem.
Your doctor should let you know if chiropractic can help you, and if it can, explain how it will.
Chiropractors generally treat subluxations of the spine, these are areas of the spine that are either out of position or not moving properly.
Spinal adjustments, either performed using the doctor's hands or specialized tools, are used to correct these subluxations.
The next important question that needs to answered by your chiropractor is how long they think it will take to fix your problem.
In general, there are two different ways chiropractors can treat patients, they can either patch or fix the problem.
Patching the problem means treating a patient until they are out of pain, and then releasing them.
This is a shorter treatment time, however it is usually only a short term solution as the problem will usually come back after a period of time.
The other option is to actually fix the problem.
This is a longer process than just patching the problem because it involves adjustments after the patient is out of pain.
This ensures that the joint is not only back in the proper position, but that it is also strengthened and stabilized, so that it will remain there.
Finally, your chiropractor should tell you how much your treatment will cost, this may vary greatly from chiropractor to chiropractor.
Chiropractors perform many different types of therapies in addition to the adjustment, the cost per treatment will depend on the number of therapies that your chiropractor uses.
The price also depends on whether you have insurance or not.
If you have insurance, it depends on what type of chiropractic coverage you have.
Remember, some times your chiropractic benefits may vary from your medical benefits.
If you don't have insurance, most chiropractors can work out a cash program that is affordable for you.
Before receiving you first adjustment, be sure that your doctor has answered all four of these questions to your satisfaction.
If you have more questions, feel free to ask, make sure that all of your questions and concerns have been addressed.
Always make sure that you are 100% comfortable before beginning your chiropractic treatment.
