How to Search for Corporate Bond Pricing
- 1). Purchase a "Wall Street Journal" from your local bookstore or go to your local library. Other good resources to search for bond prices are "Investor's Business Daily" (IBD) or "Barron's."
- 2). Turn to the bond tables. Papers vary in format. The title of the table should be Corporate Bond Prices. You can also look in the table of contents which is usually located on the first few pages of the paper.
- 3). Look for the specific company of interest and see its high and low prices for the day before. It is impossible for papers to list every issue, since there are many more bonds traded than stocks. Additionally, bonds do not trade with the same regularity as stocks and so only commonly trades issues are published.
- 4). Go to the company website. Most companies will also list the price of their bonds on their website. If they do not, you can call the company's investor relations department.
- 5). Go to the online version of the papers mentioned in Step 1. While there may be a subscription involved, you can usually access the same information for a daily or annual fee.
