Design the quinceanera dance space, costumes and music to reflect the theme of a royal ball, a fitting dance theme because the young woman traditionally dons a tiara. Drape the walls of the dance space with royal insignia such as the fleur de lis and royal colors such as deep purple and gold. Hire musicians to play the kind of tunes a princess would have heard in, say, Tudor England or Renaissance France. A royal ball quinceanera would be particularly well-suited to a girl who loves historical novels. Dances of the time were relatively simple and processional, making them suitable for all ages. Hire a dance expert to guide the guests through formations.

    Macarena

    • Inspire smiles and give quinceanera attendees with less-than-stellar dance skills a helping hand by playing the song "Macarena" (released by the band Los Del Rio in the 1990s) and performing the accompanying dance as a group. The moves are relatively easy to follow for someone unfamiliar with the dance, making "Macarena" a particularly appropriate dance for a gathering that may include folks from several generations.

    Indian Dance

Quinceanera court members typically practice a showcase dance together before the event and then perform it. Surprise party guests and put an exotic, pan-cultural spin on a common quinceanera practice by having members of the quinceanera's court perform a choreographed dance from India. For example, court members could practice and perform a dance to the song "Jai Ho" from the soundtrack of the film "Slumdog Millionaire." Add a fashion element to the choreographed dance by having the female court members all don saris at the same time just before the dance begins.

    Slow Dances

    • Insert some slow songs into the dance mix at the quinceanera to give everyone a chance to catch their breath. Slow songs at the quinceanera can include the traditional quinceanera-and-father dance and quinceanera-and-escort dance, which typically take place at the beginning of the dancing portion of the event but slow dances sprinkled throughout the set list will allow all attendees to participate.
