    Creating the Filthy Walls

    • 1). Create a new room. Set the foreground to grey and the background to black.

      Use the craqulure filter and set the crack spacing to 2. Run this filter 5 times.

      Set the crack spacing to 45 and run the filter one more time.

      Sharpen the image.

    Rendering the Floor

    • 1


      Load any photograph. Create a new layer and place the layer beneath the photograph. Fill the lower layer with whatever color you want to use for the floor.

      Run the sharpen filter.

      Run threshold and move the arrow all the way to the left. This should remove most of the black in the photo.

      Use the magic wand tool to remove all of the white.

    • 5


      Set an eraser to 50 percent opacity and run the eraser over the image. This should make the image appear washed out.

      Duplicate the photograph layer and flip that layer vertically or horizontally.

      Run the motion blur filter.

    Putting It All Together

      Add a new layer and draw a box.

    • 2


      Add a new layer and draw a door.

    • 3


      Add a new layer and draw the horizon line. Determine the vanishing point and draw lines that extend from the vanishing point through the corners of the box and out to the end of the page.

      Erase the corner lines within the box. Draw another box beneath to make space for the floor.

      Create your own texture and apply it to the door.

    • 6


      Place the floor walls beneath the door layers.

    • 7


      Run the smudge stick filter.

    • 8


      Use the select tool to select the floor. Run the mosaic tile filter on the floor.

      Photoshop has a lighting feature. If you want to add darkness and lighting to the image quickly, run the lighting feature and play around with it until you are happy with the results.
