Back Pain and Acute Edema

Many people suffer back pain daily, it can be minimal to severe in nature.
One medical problem that many people suffer is called acute pulmonary edema.
This disorder can cause back pain.
Edema is the build up of fluids to a specific body part.
It causes severe swelling and can be painful.
With the additional fluid build up this adds weight and can cause back pain.
If the edema is not treated it can cause heart issues and even heart failure.
There are a number of causes for edema, smoking, congestive heart failure, heart disease, infection, COPD, and many other medical problems.
When a person suffers from edema they can have moderate to severe back pain.
If left untreated for a length of time edema can cause death.
Many medical professionals use a variety of things to test for and diagnosis the problem.
The use of MRI, Xrays, and CT scans in addition to various blood monitoring programs.
Edema can lead to a number of other serious problems for the patient such as, pulmonary embolism, hypernatremia, and hypokalemia among others.
Treatment includes fluid restriction, and medication to assist in ridding of the fluid.
Patients are often on oxygen and other various medications and are ordered to be positioned in a high laying position with the head elevated also known as the Fowler position.
Some symptoms related to the disorder include excessive swelling to the area, cough, heart murmur, possible right sided heart failure, JVD among others.
Edema affects various joints, cartilage and muscles.
This can cause pain, ulcers, and changes to your stasis.
With the decrease in blood pressure edema has a direct effect on the bodies tissues as well ligaments, muscles and joints.
When a disorder affects the skeletal aspect pain will often be suffered in the back as a result of excessive inflammation and swelling.
