Driving in the influence of alcohol is a common violation among people today, especially for teenagers.
And drunk driving is one of the common reasons of vehicular accidents at present.
Why do people drink if they cannot drive when drunk? If you drink, then do not drive.
We must all know that alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs today.
In most countries, alcoholic beverages like beer are just part of their food.
They use it as a substitute for water.
But in other countries like in the Philippines, drinking of beers and other alcoholic beverages is an addiction.
If one drinks, he must make sure to it that he gets drunk.
Why? It is because of some physical and emotional reasons and problems.
Example of physical reasons are that one is so tired of the days work and he or she wants to rest but cannot sleep right away so drinking of alcohol is his or her way of making him or her fall to sleep.
If we talk about emotional problems, most people drink because of depression.
Broken relationships, family problems, or even a serious situation like a teenage girl got pregnant.
This is their way of temporarily forgetting their problems and just gets to sleep right away without thinking that after the drunkenness is gone, still the problem remains.
But too much drinking will sometimes results to depression rather than the cause.
Why do people who drink get tipsy, and even drowsy? It is because of the ingredient of the alcohol which is the ethanol that is a nervous system depressant.
It is like sleeping pills we can say.
This is what I did not learn about drinking alcoholic beverages and driving.
Five months ago, I met a car accident.
It is because I was drunk.
I was the one driving with a friend of mine beside me.
I feel so drowsy that time that I did not notice the barricade which was set up by the police to prevent drag racing in that area.
So the accident happened the car was so damaged and the only thing that I am thanking about was that me and my friend miraculously survived that tragic accident.
To make the long story short, it taught me a huge lesson about drinking and driving.
Do not drink and drive.
Better safe than suffer the consequences.
Before alcohol takes your life away, just bear in mind that one mistake made can change your life forever.
So do not drink if you will drive.
And most importantly, do not drive when you are drunk.
