    • 1). Get up to a medium speed as you roll backwards. Place your back foot at the board's tail with your forward foot above the screws of the front truck. The trucks are the wheel and axle assemblies that are attached to the skateboard.

    • 2). Go into a slight crouch as you get ready to make a jump. Put pressure on your back leg to lift the nose of the skateboard. Kick it around with your forward foot as though you are going to do a kick turn. A kick turn is where the board does a full spin around the front or back wheels on the ground.

    • 3). Hop up at the same moment you get the board started in its pivot. Let the board rotate beneath you as it makes a complete pivot around the back wheels.

    • 4). Keep your body weight centered over the skateboard. Keep your eyes on the board so you are ready when it comes back around from its pivot. When it has finished a 180 rotation lower your feet and catch the board.

    • 5). Land on the pavement in the fakie position. Fakie is when you skate in your regular stance but your board is rolling backwards. You can go into another frontside or backside pivot from there to keep your footwork line moving.
