    • 1). Download Virtual PDF Printer from Wondersoft's website (see Resources). Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.

    • 2). Click the Windows "Start" button and open the "Control Panel." In Classic View, double-click on "Printers." You should see Virtual PDF Printer listed among your available printers. If you do not want this to be your default printer setting, right-click on the printer you want to use as your default and click "Set as default printer."

    • 3). To share Virtual PDF Printer with other local network users, right-click on the "Virtual PDF Printer" icon and select "Sharing...."

    • 4). Click "Change Sharing Options" (in Windows Vista and 7) and click "Continue" when Windows asks for permission to continue. A new dialog box will pop up. Check the box next to "Share This Printer."

    • 5). On Windows Vista or later, this will automatically populate the "Share name:" field and auto-check the box next to "Render print jobs on client computers." Do not change these settings. On earlier versions of Windows, select the "Shared as:" field and enter "VirtualP." If other users are using different versions of Windows, click "Additional Drivers" and follow the instructions to install the correct driver for the other Windows versions. Otherwise, click "Okay."

    • 6). To convert a document to a PDF file, select your word processor's printer settings. Select "Virtual PDF Printer" and click "Print." A dialog box will pop up asking where to save the PDF file. Select the correct location and click "Okay."
