How to Install Swimming Pool Walls

    • 1). Prepare a level area for the swimming pool base. Only remove dirt to level the base. Adding dirt provides an unstable base that cannot support the weight of the water in the pool liner.

    • 2). Place landscaping blocks around the outside perimeter of the pool following the specifications for your particular swimming pool. The pool wall supports must fit on the block. Use a shovel to dig out enough dirt so the blocks sit at grade level. Use a carpenter's level to ensure the blocks are level from side to side and front to back.

    • 3). Set a wall post base on each of the landscape blocks. Use the nuts and bolts in the assembly kit to connect the base to the lower wall track. Have adjustable wrenches or a socket set handy to accommodate the different size connectors. When you finish this step, the pool's shape is set.

    • 4). Place at least two inches of clean sand inside the ring formed by the lower wall track. Use a hand tamper to pack it into place to form the base of the swimming pool.

    • 5). Unroll a small portion of the swimming pool wall. Slide it into the lower wall track. Continue unrolling the wall and sliding it into the track. Have a helper unroll the track while you settle it into position.

    • 6). Join the two sections of pool wall with the nuts and bolts in the assembly kit. Tighten them completely with an adjustable wrench. Cover the inside of the pool wall connection with a layer of duct tape to keep the bolts from poking into the pool liner.

    • 7). Insert an upright post into a base. Connect the two with nuts and bolts from the assembly kit. Before tightening the connectors, check that the post is plumb, using the carpenter's level. Repeat this process for the remaining posts.

    • 8). Set the post tops in place. Slip the top of the swimming pool wall into the top track, and attach the top track to the post tops, using the connectors from the assembly kit.

    • 9). Finish the pool installation by adding the pool liner. Connect the pool liner to the bead track in the top of the wall track. Connect the pool's electrical equipment, and fill it with water.
