How to Remove a Headlight Cover on a John Deere 318
- 1). Find and pull off the spark plug wire on your 318 with a pair of pliers. Simply pull the spark plug wire straight up and off the tip of the plug.
- 2). Kneel in front of your 318 and examine the headlight cover. There are two screws on each side that hold the recessed cover in place.
- 3). Insert the tip of your Phillips screwdriver into the first headlight cover screw. Twist your screwdriver to the left (or counterclockwise) to remove the screw. Remove the second screw.
- 4). Wedge the tip of your screwdriver under the trim of the headlight cover and pry it loose. Once it has come forward about an inch, use your fingers to pull the remainder of the headlight cover straight out.
