10 points how to keep your computer privacy
Even though you do not use internet, you can appear under threat of harmful software from usb sticks, cd, installed rogue software, etc.So, there are several easy steps for you and your computer to stay secure.
1.Use Trusted software. 30 per cent no licensed Windows are initially infected.
Built in tricks could be inside your just installed operating system, so no good man neither clever software would be able to correct problems. One beatiful day your computer may become an unpredictable monster, bringing requests and installing bad software, or transform from lightning-quick PC into stupid piece of iron.
2.Do not use Admin account (Russian say - Do not stay under root). Log in as a User.
3.Use Realtime protection (deny based).
4.Keep software (especially security patches) up to date.
5.Turn off unnecessary services.
If Internet turned on:
6.Always necessary use firewall or(and) tuned up router. Use password protected wireless connections.
There's plenty of good reasons to secure your home Wi-Fi network. You don't want your neighbors to have access to private info. You don't want bad boys to slow down the connection you're paying for. You don't want people to use your connection to participate in illegal activities. The only reason to leave it open is if you want to give someone access to your digital life.
7.Turn off shares.
8.Try to use secured (encripted) connections (more info...)
9.Use and keep good passwords.
10.Do not wait somebody to keep your privacy.
Want more?
You are a lover to visit dangerous sites? So, for you ideally suit virtual browsing, virtual machine or Live CD (USB) .Using Live CD gives you absolutely full privacy safety. When turning off your PC, on your machine there is absolutly no tracks of your actions (of course, if your hard disk is turned off in BIOS, otherwise, something may be written into it).
In case of using router you can keep open 2-3 ports to ensure that nobody may intrude into your system.
Install free Browser Guards, such as mcafee site advisor, pctools browser guard, avg link checker.
Use Firewall and Realtime Protection from different vendors ( this is more secure).
Use Boot Guard from any vendor. Boot process is a weak place for your computer.
Do not install Java and Adobe Flash if they are not necessary.
