Common Side Effects

• There are several fairly routine side effects that are possible with this drug combination. These side effects are appetite loss, confusion, throwing up, UTI (urinary tract infection), stomach upset, sweating, dry mouth, diarrhea, constipation, headache, dizziness, changes in taste, nausea, difficulty sleeping and throwing up. If these symptoms do not subside, or if they become increasingly troublesome, you should seek the advice of your physician.
  
  

Serious Side Effects

• Serious side effects are also a possibility with Carbidopa-Levodopa. If an individual should experience more severe effects, they should get emergency medical care as soon as possible. These side effects include irregular or rapid heartbeat, painful or abnormal spams or motions of the eyelids, mouth, face, hands, legs, tongue or arms, double vision, blurry vision, jaundice, chest ache, depression, confusion, extreme lightheadedness, passing out, extreme abdominal ache, suicidal thoughts, abnormal sweating or fever, sore throat, unusual bleeding or bruising, vomit with blood inside of it, tarry, dark stools, hallucinations, unusual stiffness and muscle pain.
  
  

Allergic Reactions

• Some people might experience allergic reactions due to Carbidopa-Levodopa. Allergic reactions are severe side effects of the medicine, and show up through signs like chest tightness, uncomfortable breathing, swelling of various parts of the body (like the face, mouth, tongue, and lips), skin rash, itchiness and hives. If you notice any of these symptoms, you should look for emergency medical assistance.
  
  

Warnings

• Carbidopa-Levodopa is not a suitable option for everybody, such as those who are sensitive or allergic to any of its components. It is also not advised for those who have any undiagnosed or unusual moles on their skin, as well as those who have or have had melanoma.
  
  

Drug Interactions

• If an individual takes Carbidopa-Levodopa simultaneous with other drugs, they run the risk of experiencing drug interactions, which could have the consequences of altering the effectiveness of any of the medicines involved. Some types of drugs that could interact negatively with Carbidopa-Levodopa are papaverine, antacids, antispasmodic drugs, antiseizure drugs, various tranquilizers (like risperidone, alprazolam, and haloperidol), metoclopramide, isoniazid, selegiline, MAO inhibitors, pyridoxine, tricyclic antidepressants and blood pressure medicines.
