In life, there are only three main zones.
First is the danger zone.
This is the zone in which you are afraid of doing.
You are afraid of trying things under this zone and since you know your limitations and this zone is certainly one of them.
The next zone is the growth zone.
This is where you know you have the ability to carry out something, yet you are in the process of getting to know your ability.
As such, hesitation is what conquers you.
Finally, the zone which many people love to be with is the comfort zone.
This is the zone in which you know you have the ability and you are confident enough to show others what you've got.
To improve your golf mental game skills you really need to extend beyond this comfort zone.
In short, comfort zone refers to their strengths and where they are basically good at.
Yet, not at all times, working under your comfort zone is beneficial for your golf mental game.
This is even a limitation which hinders you from breaking new grounds and improves more on what you have.
Therefore, if your goal is betterment of your golf mental game, you must learn how to play beyond your comfort zone.
Therefore, if you have an average score of let's say 80 every game, you have to believe that you can score lower for the next game.
Even if you constantly score 80 each game, and it actually brings you to victory, do not just be content at that.
Instead, make sure that you elevate yourself in every game.
When you are working beyond your comfort zone, the first thing that you have to do is to break your barriers.
This means that you have to believe that you can do more than what you usually do.
Avoid saying that you have done your best already.
Instead, say that you did well, but you can even do a lot better.
More than having such mentality, it is also essential that you create a game plan for each time you have a game.
This means that you make sure you have a plan for every course and every round you play.
You also have to couple your plan with physical and mental preparations so that you can achieve what you planned prior to the game.
Another important thing that you have to consider is self- belief.
This means that you have to discard the thought of not possibly achieving something and believe that whatever is in your mind, you can definitely achieve.
Learn to unlock self- imposed limits and break newer grounds.
Keep on reaching higher and do more each time you play.
However, with this belief comes the ability to stay grounded with reality.
Make sure that what you plan is possible to achieve and not plans that are way too impossible.
When you do this, you will be surprised that every time you play, you only keep on getting better and better.
