How to Paint a Picture of the Globe
- 1). Draw a circle the size you want the globe to be. Draw an outline of a stand holding the globe.
- 2). Draw an outline of the different continents on one side of the globe. Because your drawing is flat, you won't be able to fit all the continents as they are shown on a three dimensional globe. Draw, for example, North and South America toward the left side of the globe, and half of Europe and Africa up against the right side. Use stencils or copy the shapes from a map.
- 3). Paint the globe. If you want to show different countries, pencil in the country shapes within the continents. Paint the countries different colors and paint the water blue. If you are painting a physical map, use different colors to show areas of elevation, and paint in physical features like mountains and rivers. To paint a climate globe, use different colors or varying shades of a color to signify precipitation and cooler or warmer regions.
- 4). Draw a map key below or next to the globe, denoting what the colors and symbols on your globe represent.
