How to Make a Satyr Costume
- 1). Satyrs usually go bare-chested. If you are not confident enough, wear a loose shirt in a soft flowing fabric, or cut the sleeves from an oversized white T-shirt and cinch the fabric together at the shoulders to approximate a Greek-style tunic. Alternatively, wear a suede vest.
- 2). Make satyr legs by sewing a pair of baggy pants from brown fur fabric. Make the thigh section extra wide so you can pad out the pants to look like goat legs. Make the lower section tight around your calves. If you are not good at sewing, glue seams with fabric glue or use stick-on Velcro.
- 3). Wear light pants under the fur pants. Stuff the top of the fur pants with batting to pad out the shape of the legs. Make a short tail by sticking two strips of fur together back-to-back and gluing or pinning the resulting tail to the rear of your fur pants.
- 4). Cut cloven hoof shapes from light brown craft foam or faux-leather and stick them on the top of your boots or shoes. Make them large enough to cover your shoes completely.
- 5). Buy stick-on devil horns from a costume store and paint them a light color using acrylic craft paint. Stick them to a headband as an alternative to sticking them directly on your forehead. A curly brown wig would be an ideal addition to this costume, although it is not essential.
- 6). Accessorize your costume with a wine flagon, goblet or tankard. Carry a bow and arrow or a spear as hunting weapons.
