    Is Acai Berry Healthy?

    • Some research has shown that acai berry pulp has higher amount of antioxidant elements as compared to cranberry, blackberry, raspberry, strawberry and blueberry. Although research is still going on, there aren't any known health benefits of the fruit that are different from those of other similar fruits.

      Currently, scientists are trying to find out about the hidden powers of fruits like acai berry. Even though you might find acai berry being used in a number of weight loss products, there is no specific research that tells about the weight loss benefits of the fruit.     Acai Berry Sources

    • Acai berries in natural form are obviously the best source of consuming the rich fiber and antioxidant element. If you cannot find acai berries in the grocery store, you can always get the acai pulp from the freezer sections of supermarkets. The freeze-dried acai pulp is still packed with nutrients and antioxidants.

      If acai berry is not available to you in fruit form, a few less effective alternatives are acai juices, pills, capsules and powders. The reason they are less effective is that they do not contain the exact same content of pure berries, rather, they only use the acai extract. The juices can be found from grocery stores and other drink shops.

      There are a number of acai supplements on the market that claim to help burn fat quickly and cleanse the toxic substances from the body. However, not all of these supplements are approved by the FDA and the claims are not verified.

    Acai Berry Uses

    • The easiest method of using the natural berries is to include them while preparing regular meals. You can replace grapes, raisins and blueberries in certain dishes with acai berry.

      Use the frozen pulp for making juices, desserts and smoothies.

    Side Effects

    • Acai berry is safe to be eaten in a moderate amount. However, individuals suffering from pollen allergies and food allergies to similar berries should avoid it.
