Keep Away From Children

• While a vaporizer offers immediate relief for children with scratchy throats or dry coughs, the vaporizer should be placed so children cannot reach the unit. Warm mist vaporizers can reach temperatures of 170 degrees so place the vaporizer on top of a dresser or table to prevent your child from touching it.
  
  

Monitor the Unit

• Avoid leaving the vaporizer unattended for long periods of time. Check it regularly to make sure the unit is running properly and isn't releasing too much water. If the vaporizer settings are too high, it might release an excessive amount of water into the air. This can result in dampness to the surrounding floors, windows and walls. Regularly examine the cord to make sure there is no damage or wear. Avoid allowing the unit to run while empty as this can cause damage to the motor.
  
  

Clean the Unit Regularly

• Clean the vaporizer at regular intervals to ensure it remains free of mold and mineral buildup. Rinse the vaporizer's water reservoir with tap water or use vinegar on any difficult-to-clean spots. Dry the vaporizer thoroughly with a clean towel or allow it to air-dry before using it again. If the unit has a separate base, wipe it down with a towel to prevent water damage to the electrical cord.
  
  

Store it Properly

• Before you store your vaporizer, ensure that all portions of the unit are completely dry. Excess moisture can cause mold growth, which is difficult to remove from a vaporizer. The body of the vaporizer should be completely free from water at the time of storage. You can empty it through the fill hole or simply run it until the water is gone. Dry the exterior of the unit and, if your vaporizer has a separate base, use a towel to dry that too. Store your vaporizer in its original packaging or in a cool, dry place.
