How to Clean Your Electronics

When cleaning your home, electronics need the same kind of tender loving care that your furniture, bathroom and floors need.
When having friends over you clean your home so that they feel comfortable.
But when you turn on your television, you notice the screen is filled with dust.
You ignore it.
Then you turn on the DVD player to put in that new movie that you rented.
The DVD player doesn't turn on.
Those annoyances could be the cause of improperly maintaining these electronics.
Televisions, computers, and DVD players can last nearly three times as long if they are properly cleaned! Knowing how to clean any of these electronics is important, because by knowing what you are doing, it saves time on further costs to replacing a broken television or computer.
The DVD player is pretty simple to clean.
Usually video rental stores and large electronic stores carry cleaners that effectively clean the lens on the inside of the player.
You can use these multiple times and easily get your money's worth of use in the long run.
SO what else could be the problem with the player? Well you will notice in a lot of these electronics that dust is the number one problem with how these systems will operate.
Go ahead and purchase a can of air spray.
(Not hair spray) These cans blow cold air onto everything from computer keyboards, to the interior of a lot of the electronics that we will talk about here.
You don't need to take apart your DVD player for any of this.
Just press the open button that allows you to insert a DVD, and leave it ajar.
You spray the inside of the player, getting every nook and cranny.
Close the DVD player up and turn it off.
Usually, every DVD player has vents on the side or in the back of the player for ventilation from the extreme heat that this player puts out.
What causes many DVD players to not work is that it gets too hot inside when the DVD is spinning that it pushes a lot of the dust and hot air towards these little vents.
The dust then collects onto these little vents and stops the hot air from being released.
Just take your can of air and spray these little vents to get all the dust out.
You can also use this can for video game systems, televisions, and computer towers.
For televisions, just use your basic window glass cleaner for the screen.
Do not spray directly onto the screen but use a paper towel, rag or newspaper to wipe off without leaving any streaks.
If you spray onto the screen directly, the liquid could run down the screen into and behind the glass monitor, seeping inside the television unit itself! This is not good obviously.
These cleaning tips for your electronics aren't supposed to take you very long in your cleaning regimen.
Like I have stated before, know what needs to be done ahead of time, and be prepared.
