There is so much to see and do in Greater Fort Lauderdale that we are making it easy for to plan your day.

Get your journey started on land and on sea. Come play on our beaches. You can spend the day (or longer!) on the water in the Venice of America, without ever stepping foot on land. If you are fresh off a cruise ship and only have a few hours until your flight, the 3 Hour Tour is for you. And, for your wallet's pleasure, we have compiled a list of Free Things to Do in Greater Fort Lauderdale.

Venice  of America

Greater Fort Lauderdale's 300-plus miles of navigable inland canals - part of the Intracoastal Waterway - stretch from the Atlantic Ocean to the Everglades. A destination within a destination, the waterways offer everything from centuries-old mangroves to opulent multi-million-dollar mansions. They also connect the area's top activities, attractions, hotels, shopping areas and restaurants. It is easy to experience our water culture by staying in a waterfront hotel or enjoying our many waterway attractions.

Best way to explore the canals? We recommend kayak tours (there's even moonlight excursions), gondola rides, sightseeing cruises or Water Taxi. Choose from a list of sightseeing cruises.

Lotsa yachts. Greater Fort Lauderdale is home to a multi-billion-dollar marine industry with more than 42,000 registered yachts. Celebrity-owned, eight-figure mega-yachts ease along the New River and dock in luxurious digs like the 250-slip Bahia Mar Resort & Yachting Center, which can accommodate up to 100 mega-yachts. For those with slightly more modest tastes, yacht and boat rentals are both readily available and easily affordable.

Dock and dine. You can go snorkeling in the Atlantic Ocean, towel off and cast a reel to land the catch of the day, and then have your hard-earned meal prepared just the way you like it at a number of waterfront restaurants in town.

Free Things to Do

Stroll Hollywood's famed 2 ½ mile Broadwalk along the beach.  Snorkel (no boat needed) from shore along Lauderdale-By-The-Sea's three-tiered reef system and discover the many underwater treasures.  Meditate as you focus on the sunrise by the pier in Deerfield Beach.  People watch along Fort Lauderdale's beachfront promenade.  Hop on the trolley in downtown Fort Lauderdale's Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District on Fridays and Saturdays to experience the lighthearted energy of Las Olas Boulevard. Sports fans can catch the free Dolphins Training Camp each August in Davie.
