British Public Associate Devon And Cornwall With The Outdoor Holiday

Devon and Cornwall have had a long association with camping and caravanning, and the mindset of the great British public is, whenever we think about the great outdoor holiday we connect perfectly with these two counties.

There are quite a few companies involved in the caravan park business these days and the accommodation they offer is light years ahead of what it used to be 30 years ago, and praise be for that.

Fred Pontin first started what were then called Holiday Camps in 1946 and from that, success came quickly those were the days hailed as the Hi de Hi days of British Holiday Camps, with the all too well known competitions such as the Bathing Belle and knobbly knees contests, but today although some modern holiday parks may still have competitions they are so different from those far off days.

Those old ideas such as the breakfast wake up calls, have long since floated away on a cloud and good riddance for that, today, holidaymakers want to please themselves what they do and when they do it.

Today Cornwall caravan parks and indeed a Devon caravan park, have freedom to enjoy the surroundings, beaches, and the God given wealth of the countryside. There are very few restrictions; obviously tourists are required to respect other holidaymakers in the vicinity but apart from that, you will probably be able to have a BBQ, and eat out in your own area, some parks will allow dogs at least on the camping side of campsites in Cornwall or even a campsite Devon, with special dog walks.

There is always plenty of open space for children to play safely, and other activities on site if the weather is bad, maybe a game of table tennis, or pool, an indoor badminton court, a fitness suite, and other outdoor activities to enjoy, and that is all on site, you can also enjoy the beaches and all the water sports that are on offer.

A quality caravan park Cornwall may also have different types of accommodation, such as two or three bedroom luxury static caravans, or even holiday cottages, or of course go straight to the camping area and pitch your own tent or site your own touring caravan, the choices are endless, the most important thing is you and your family have a great time, and a holiday that is memorable.

A spokesman for Wooda Farm holiday Park in Bude North Cornwall said we pride ourselves on having a wonderful holiday park to offer holidaymakers the best holiday ever, we are a family owned and run park, and of course are very family orientated, thus we find it easy to pass that on to our guests. Our park is set in forty acres of parkland overlooking miles of stunning Cornish coast, and the accommodation is of five star qualities. We have everything to keep our customers happy even our own lake for fishing, which is well stocked with tench, mirror and common carp, those wanting to find out more about us go online and take a look at what is on offer we guarantee you will not be disappointed.

This long association with the West Country for camping and caravanning will never cease, simply because Devon and Cornwall is the Riviera of England, and long may it reign.
