How to Clean a Stainless Steel Range Hood
- 1). Turn off the stainless steel range hood's blower fan and light.
- 2). Remove the grease pan from the stainless steel range hood by unsnapping the latches from each side of the pan. Slide the grease pan toward you to remove it. Wear latex gloves to keep grease from getting on your hands.
If the plastic light cover has latches and can be removed, remove it also from the range hood and place it to the side. - 3). Fill your kitchen sink with warm soapy water.
- 4). Place the grease pan in the sink of soapy water and let it soak until you finish cleaning the stainless steel range hood.
- 5). Apply 1 tbsp. of dishwashing soap to a non-abrasive cloth or microfiber cloth. Wet the cloth with warm water from the sink. Wring out excess water.
- 6). Wipe the plastic light cover and the outside of the blower fan housing (wheel and brackets) with the soap-soaked cloth. Do not move the metal balancing clips or any fasteners holding the blower motor wheel in place.
For stubborn stains, scrub with light pressure to break up the grease and grime. Re-wet the cloth as needed. - 7). Rinse out the non-abrasive cloth or microfiber cloth with warm water from the sink.
- 8). Rinse the plastic light cover and the outside of the blower fan housing with the damp cloth.
- 9). Reinstall the plastic light cover, if you removed it from the light.

Apply 2 tbsp. of stainless steel cleaner to a clean non-abrasive cloth or microfiber cloth. - 11
Wipe the inside and outside of the range hood with the cleaner-soaked cloth. Wipe with the grain of the stainless steel. Reapply stainless steel cleaner as needed. Use a new cloth as needed. - 12
Scrub the grease pan that is soaking in the sink of soapy water with a cloth. - 13
Rinse the grease pan with hot water from the sink. Dry the pan with a clean cloth. - 14
Reinstall the grease pan. - 15
Apply 1 tbsp. of stainless steel cleaner to a clean non-abrasive cloth or microfiber cloth. Wipe any remaining fingerprints from the range hood.
