I think it is safe to say that everybody has experienced the feeling of fear at least once, but there is a night and day difference between anxiety as a response to a situation and anxiety as a chronic condition.
This is why it is important to know the signs and symptoms of anxiety.
Everyone has a natural biological reaction to situations that are dangerous, and this is known as the fight or flight syndrome.
Also commonly called fear.
Fear is one of the most important feelings to have for one simple reason, it keeps us safe.
However, feeling anxious about a particular situation is very common, but when this feeling of anxiety begins to interfering with your everyday life it can be a serious problem.
Too many people live in a life of denial about suffering from anxiety, and convince themselves that it is just normal fear.
This exactly why knowing the signs and symptoms of anxiety can help you differentiate between anxiousness or a more serious condition.
It is commonly known that anxiety is a psychological disorder, but what a lot of people don't know is that the signs and symptoms of anxiety are both psychological and physical.
Severe anxiety will interfere with the way individuals feel and think.
Some of the physical signs and symptoms of anxiety are:
  • muscle tension
  • feeling nauseous
  • frequent headaches
  • difficulty sleeping
  • heavy sweating
  • heart palpitations
  • trembling and fatigue
Some of the psychological signs and symptoms of anxiety are:
  • excessive worrying
  • difficulty concentrating
  • feeling that you are losing control
  • Worrying that people are looking at you
  • feeling the need to escape and get to a safe place
  • an intense feeling that you wont be able to cop
  • jumpiness
If you think that you have the signs and symptoms of anxiety, it would be a good idea to talk to a counselor or even a doctor.
Even if you think it is just the normal worries that happen in everyone's life, it can't hurt to make sure it is not a more serious problem.
If you are even considering the possibility that you have a problem, then something is obviously bothering you, so you might want to seek out help.
If you have a general feeling of anxiousness, then speaking with a counselor is a good way to sort out your feelings.
If you are experiencing any of the physical signs or symptoms, then you should get yourself checked out as soon as possible.
