Seven Steps To Info Marketing Success (part 3)

By now you are hard at work, getting ready to make money online. You started by committing to action and promised yourself you would start an online business. You have already chosen your niche, narrowly, based upon the three-question test Ive recommended.

You may have also started a blog or an e-mail newsletter, and once youve got it up and running, you are going to create fresh content every day. Youve even got a plan for your first information product, an audio recording of a teleclass you are going to conduct, based upon the fears and frustrations expressed by your prospects through feedback and comments.

The next logical question you have to be asking is, How will I get paid?

Step #6: Set up a shopping cart. You have to have a way to accept money. The simplest one is Paypal, a merchant service for Internet marketing that can be accessed by anyone with e-mail address. It costs you nothing to set up a Paypal account, and it a great service because they have shopping carts. They give you free buttons and tools that you can use on your web site. Or you can just send people directly to your Paypal account. You can even send them invites by using e-mail money requests.

Paypal is very flexible. Its a no-cost way to set up your first cash register or shopping cart. And its easy to set up, so you can be ready to accept payments the very day you offer your first information product.

When you set up your shopping cart, you will see there are some more advanced ones you can use as well. But start with a simple one, perhaps just a Buy Here button. You can install a full-blown shopping cart with lots of options later. As you gradually build out your product line, doing coaching, conducting webinars and selling multiple information products, you will already have the tools and know exactly how youre going to accept payments.

Step #7: Interact with your prospective customers. Of all the seven steps, this is probably the most important one: interact with your prospects.

Earlier I said, Send out an e-mail or put up a blog post and ask prospects what their biggest challenges are? If youre going to be selling information products, and you want to do really well, then do what I do. Interact with your customers on a one-to-one basis. Have free teleclasses with them. Do webinars. Do live programs. Do individual one-on-one coaching calls. Coach them in front of a group. Do whatever you have to in order to interact with your customers.

Heres a good recommendation for when youre getting started: Talk live on the telephone to at least one prospective customer a day and just help them out for free. Give away fifteen-minute coaching sessions for nothing. You do that just so you can get familiar with what all their problems are, their frustrations, their common fears and their common challenges.

As you talk to themone person a day, every single dayyou will get better and better at solving their problems. I guarantee that you will develop so much faster than you would have otherwise. Youll start seeing opportunities for creating new information products, for creating new information marketing niches, for doing Internet marketing, for increasing your conversion, and to make money online. As the Nike ad says, Just do it! Interact with your prospective customers on a daily basis.

So thats a great seven-step approach for success as you start an online business, publishing information products. If youd like to be on the fast track, if youd like to put yourself, quite literally, years in front of the trial-and error curve, follow these steps just as Ive given them to you. Theyve worked well for me, and for others, and they can do just the same for you.
