How to Remove Cydia From iPhone 3G
- 1). Download and install the latest version of iTunes on your computer, following the installation instructions detailed on the Apple website. Launch iTunes once installation has completed by clicking its icon on the desktop.
- 2). Connect the iPhone 3G to the computer using its USB cable. ITunes will detect that an iPhone has been connected and will add it to the "Devices" list in the left column.
- 3). Click "Restore" and select "Back Up" from the pop-up dialog box. This will create a backup of the iPhone's current settings and content, which will be restored after Cydia has been removed.
- 4). Click "Restore" in the dialog box once the backup has completed. The iPhone 3G will be restored to its factory settings and a new version of the latest firmware will be applied. The screen will go black during the process, and the Apple logo will be displayed.
- 5). Select the iPhone 3G's backup file from the "Restore from the backup of" drop-down menu once it's been restored. Your previous content and settings will be restored to the iPhone 3G, excluding Cydia and any software installed through Cydia.
