Age is Not an Excuse to Be Overweight

We all know that our bodies change over time resulting in our systems, such as metabolism and digestion, not operating as well as they use to when we where young.
We also find fat in certain places never seen before.
However, one thing will never change - eating and drinking too much will make you fat, and using age as an excuse to be overweight just does not cut it.
Just look around you and see how many older people are slim and healthy and you'll see that age plays no part in being overweight.
What does play a part is the choices you make in your younger days, specifically lifestyle choices.
The problem comes from not seeing the effects of those choices immediately, but rather over time.
The question you need to ask yourself is, yes, I want to live to 70 or 80, but do I want the last 20 years or so to be hell on earth, with constant or even daily health problems? Do I want to be bed ridden and totally dependent on others? Your health should always be maintained at an optimal level throughout your life, especially your fat percentage.
It will result in minimal expenses related to health care and less use of medication, as you age.
Whether you are young or old, you can always benefit from a healthy diet and exercise.
Anything that serves to control your body's fat levels will only help you live longer, and more important, live a better quality of life.
When we talk of healthy lifestyle we are not talking of going to gym for 2 hours everyday, or watching what you eat like a hawk.
No, just keep it simple and use common sense.
Eat lots of fruit and veggies, drink lots of water, and partake in some form of physical activity regularly.
A long walk, or playing in the park will do, anything that gets your heart pumping a little faster.
If you are young start now on improving your lifestyle habits, and enjoy a less problematic future.
If you are old its never to late to start winding back the clock.
Obviously the earlier the better but the important thing is to start, and not tomorrow, or the next day, NOW.
