  Sunrise, Arizona, located at the eastern end of the state and roughly 150 miles from Phoenix, is the site of the Sunrise Ski Resort, a popular weekend getaway for locals. Even though this is in Arizona, don't expect to see sprawling desert and cacti because this is the mountains. • Located twenty minutes away from Sunrise Ski Resort, the Snowy Mountain Inn offers guests a fun-filled stay for the fraction of the price of a full-fledged resort. The hotel sits on 10 acres and offers such activities as a trout fishing, hiking trails, horseshoes court, and even a kids room. The hotel also offers the Scorecard Restaurant, a rustic take on the sports bar. The hotel rooms, sitting in the various log cabins around the complex, are one- to three-bedroom accommodations--each offering king or queen sized beds, satellite TV and a fully equipped kitchen.
