Housing Grant Regeneration Act
- The act's primary purpose is to provide grants for refurbishing dilapidated housing. The act creates four types of grants for which individuals can apply: disability facilities grants, renovation grants, common part grants and house in multiple occupation grants.
- The act makes it so that local housing authorities give these grants and funds directly to the community. These funds are paid for either directly through legislation or at the discretion of the secretary of state.
- The act was originally passed by Parliament on July 24, 1996. The act repeals several aspects of the Housing Act of 1985 and the Local Government and Housing Act of 1989.
