Bio-Fueled Train Farts and Chugs Along

Talk about alternative energy; just imagine a locomotive, which ran on organic waste from cows.
Sounds like horse crap right? Well you might not be so far off, as everyone else thought they were crazy when some ten-gallon hat type gentleman proposed the idea, but now we have the world's first bio-gas train fueled by cattle waste.
We have all heard of the cow that jumped over the moon and the holy cows of India.
Well maybe there is something to all these stories as this little train that could is a Bio-fueled locomotive that farts and chugs along.
Of course such a novel idea could never get past the EPA tight regulatory paperwork without years of studies, paperwork and forms for approval so this was done in Stockholm, Sweden.
Running a large engine on renewable energy has been discussed for years as a way to generate electricity so it makes sense for a large locomotive engine.
The train it is being used on is a 60-passenger seat train, which goes at 130 kilometers per hour for six hundred kilometers between refueling.
Sure it is not so impressive, this prototype is proving not only that it can be done but it can be done in an efficient way.
The train was developed through a $1.
25 million dollar research grant for renewable and alternative energy.
This is one reason why it is good to see the United States also spending money on renewables, as it makes good sense and dollars.
Think on this.
