    • 1). Eat healthy food. It is important for you to consume certain vitamins and minerals, which will help your body to remain healthy. If you have muscle cramps, you are probably lacking proper nutrition. Talk with your physician about the appropriate diet plan that fits you and your body.

    • 2). Stretch. You should always stretch before starting any exercises. Some common stretching techniques are extending your arms out in front of you (palms out as if you are pushing something away from you) as far as you can and hold for about 30 seconds. Take your right arm and move it over your head to your left side, poking out your right hip and hold for 30 seconds. Repeat this with your left arm. This should release the cramps in your side and arms.

    • 3). Take hot showers. The sensation of standing under a stream of steaming hot water will release muscle and side tension. Allow the hot water to flow over the troubled areas of your body. If you can, let the water get as hot as you can stand it. The combination of the heat and steam will relax the muscles. Close your eyes and take deep breaths.

    • 4). Drink plenty of fluids. it is always important to drink fluids to stay hydrated. Your body loses electrolytes when you sweat during exercise. Staying hydrated prevents cramping. Always keep water with you when going to the gym or any other place you intend to exercise.

    • 5). Get massages. There is nothing like a good massage to release tension, aches and pains. Make an appointment with your local spa, or if you know a good personal massage therapist, give them a call and let them know you are having muscle cramps. They are professionals and know plenty of techniques to get your body back to normal.
