My Lexmark X8350 Will Not Scan
- 1). Restart your computer. In many cases, a simple restart of the computer will fix the Lexmark X8350 when it will not scan. Click "Start," then "Shutdown" and then "Restart" to reboot the computer. Try scanning again, and if it does not work, proceed to the next step.
- 2). Check the connection for the scanner to make sure everything is plugged in correctly. This includes the USB cable and the power cable. Try unplugging both and then plugging them back in. Try scanning again.
- 3). Check the "Printer/Scanner" status. Click "Start," then "Control Panel" and then "Printers and Faxes." Double-click the Lexmark X8350 and make sure that no check mark appears next to "Pause Printing." If it does, right-click to unpause the printing. Try scanning again.
- 4). Lower the scan resolution number. Click "Start," then "Programs," then "Lexmark 8300 Series" and then "All-In-One Center." Click "See More Scan Settings" and then "Display Advanced Scan Settings." Select a lower scan resolution number and click "Apply." Try scanning again.
- 5). Uninstall and reinstall the scan software. Click "Start," then "Control Panel" and then "Add/Remove Programs." Select the "All-In-One Center" and click "Uninstall." Click "Next" and "Finish" to complete the deinstallation. Restart the computer and then insert the "All-In-One Center" disk to reinstall the program. Try scanning again.
