    • 1). Open all of the doors and windows in the room and turn on a fan to help prevent you from breathing in too many fumes from the acetone or adhesive remover.

    • 2). Pour some acetone or adhesive remover onto a rag and wipe the rag over the area of the floor where there is linoleum glue. Allow this to soak into the glue for 15 minutes.

    • 3). Scrape the area with a sturdy, sharp scraper. Apply pressure at an angle against the glue and scrape in short, fast motions. If there is wood flooring underneath the glue, scrape in the direction of the wood grain to minimize unsightly marks on the wood.
