Uses for Treated Wood
- The sole (bottom) plate of walls sitting on concrete must be treated as well as wood attached vertically to block or concrete.
- Treated lumber is often used for decks. It is very durable, resists rot and is less expensive than other options.
- Play sets are exposed to constant weather and are a good fit for treated wood.
- Treated lumber is used for making retaining walls because it also holds up well below ground.
- Treated plywood is often installed as a sub-floor in bathrooms which are often damaged by water when non-treated wood is used.
- Many different styles of sectional fences can be purchased from your local lumber yard or you can piece one together yourself. Treated lumber doesn't have to be painted.
